Choose an Outdoor Adventure
Jackson and Teton Valley offer several public skate opportunities (and many are free!). Ice skating gives you the traditional winter experience at a lower cost and barrier to entry than downhill snow sports. See Grand Teton Skating Association and Kolter Ice Arena for more information.
National Elk Refuge Sleigh Ride
Like a scene out of a Hallmark Movie, get up close and personal with wild elk right in the heart of Jackson Hole. This horse-drawn sleigh experience is guided by knowledgeable wildlife experts who will tell you all you need to know about America’s largest migrating elk herd. Be sure to bundle up and bring a camera, the scenery is unbeatable.
Venture into the Backcountry
Try your hand at dog sledding and snowmobiling to go off the beaten path and get adrenaline pumping. These alternative modes of transportation are both fun and functional – allowing you to reach otherwise secluded destinations including Granite Hot Springs. (As always, we suggest booking a guided tour so you can venture into the wilderness with the safety and support of the pros.)
Enjoy World-class Relaxation
The same geothermal activity that generates natural phenomena in Yellowstone fuels relaxing hot springs around Jackson. During the cold winter months, 110-degree mineral-rich water may convince you to dig your swimsuit out of the closet and enjoy this spa-like outdoor experience. See Astoria Hot Springs Park or Granite Hot Springs for more information.
Few things are more luxurious than a spa day and, lucky for us, Jackson is home to many top-ranked resort spas offering facials, body treatments, massage and so much more. Treat yourself and protect your skin from harsh winter weather with quality esthetics. We’ll meet you there!
